Course Overview

This course is targeted at the Landscape Services sector. The target audience will primarily be the landscape workers at operations level.


As part of the job of a landscape worker is to perform plant pruning, this course will enable the learners to perform plant pruning safely with the correct methods and techniques using the appropriate tools, equipment and machinery.

Who Should Attend

Learners are able to speak, listen, read and write English at a proficiency level not lower than the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 3

New entrants or learners preferably with at least 6 months of experience in landscape industry.

Course Outline
  1. Follow WSH guidelines when performing plant maintenance
  2. Choose the correct plant species to prune based on the plant health & characteristics 
  3. Identify the correct tools, equipment & machinery to carry out plant pruning during preparation stage
  4. Follow the correct guidelines and techniques when carrying out plant pruning
  5. Follow proper housekeeping and hygiene procedures after completion of job




Certification Obtained and Conferred by

Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will be issued for each participant who are competent. SOA reflected as LNS-GNM-1016-1.1 Plant Pruning-1.
